A catch-all mailbox receives emails sent to non-existent email addresses under the same domain. For instance, an email sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. Thus, you can receive messages from partners or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Only one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at some point you may begin receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation means that the spam will not be sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

If you host a domain on our cloud web hosting platform and you have a cloud hosting account, you’ll be able to enable the catch-all feature for any email mailbox that you set up under the domain. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel includes quite a lot of functions, but it’s surprisingly user-friendly, so setting up a catch-all mailbox requires just one single mouse click. All the email addresses that you have set up will be shown in this section alphabetically and you will only need to click the "Catch-all" button for the specific address. Our system will inform you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain name or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either turn off the latter feature or select another mailbox. Disabling the catch-all feature is just as simple and requires yet another click on the very same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

You will be able to configure a catch-all address with no more than one click in case you have a semi-dedicated server with us and your emails are handled by our cloud platform. All the email addresses that you set up using any domain hosted in the semi-dedicated hosting account will be listed in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Each of them will have a mini "Catch-all" icon next to it, so all it will take to enable this feature will be to click on that icon. In the very same way you will be able to deactivate the feature, in case you do not need it anymore. Our system will let you know if you are attempting to activate a 2nd catch-all address for a certain domain or if there is activated email forwarding, but it’ll never deactivate or change any feature automatically or without your approval.
